Synopsis:
In THE GUNSLINGER, Stephen King introduces readers to one of his most enigmatic heroes, Roland of Gilead, the Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner, on a spellbinding journey into good and evil, in a desolate world which frighteningly echoes our own.

In his first step towards the powerful and mysterious Dark Tower, Roland encounters an alluring woman named Alice, begins a friendship with Jake, a kid from New York, and faces an agonising choice between damnation and salvation as he pursues the Man in Black.

Both grippingly realistic and eerily dreamlike, THE GUNSLINGER leaves readers eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed ..."

I initially read these books a few years back whilst I was travelling around Europe - man, some of those train journeys were loooooong.

There are 7 books in all.

I've also listened to snippets of the audiobooks since then and I'm happy to say they are beautifully read and in style with the books themselves - and easily available at all good torrent sites

I'm a fan of Stephen King books anyway so you can imagine my delight when I discovered he'd written a western-style series of books.

On February 24, 2007 at the New York Comic-Con, Stephen King confirmed that his epic 'The Dark Tower' was to be adapted to the big screen by J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof, co-creators of the TV series LOST.

ENJOY!

Looks like a cool book Calvin, here is one I read a week ago. It might be my grade level (8th), but I find it most intriguing. If you love Greek mythology, this is your book. There are other sequels to it, I'm on the second. Any way, just wanted to share. Smile
