NOTE: I will add more as I come up with it. I will post a reply when it add more so it gets bumped up.

Back story:
Heron was born 10 AD in Alexandria, Egypt. He was a mathematical who discovered steam power but never got the credit. This is a historical fiction about his life and how his great invention led to a great demise.

In chapter 2 I also reveled he made a syringe, which he did.

Chapter 1: Epiphany

It was mid-day as Heron sat in his study eating a small lunch. He was thinking of an idea to make his steam machine smaller. He looked over at a magnifying glass and noticed how the sun's rays became more concentrated. He realized he could reverse it. Instead of his machine starting in an open area and giving off less pressure he would build it in a smaller container. He thought of what he could use to accomplish this.

He knew he would need an iron casing for it. He also knew he would have to make a fire below it to turn the water into steam. He drew up a quick blue-print which was a large container with pistons and gears along it which could connect to a wheel to create movement. He did not yet know of what kind of machine could he put this on, so he left his home to visit his friend, Arsen.

"Hello Heron, how are you and your crazy contraptions?" said Arsen. He was a tall strong man with broad shoulders and a friendly stern look.

"Fine my good friend. How about you and your black smithing? Have you profited from the sport of sword-playing?"

"Ah, yes and even so I have quite a passion for what I do. What brings you?"

"I have an idea to make my steam machine put out more energy and move objects, maybe even people". Heron was very excited.

"Oh well what did you have in mind to make it more powerful"? Asked Arsen.

"Well I would need to put in a container and have the steam go out through narrow pipes to create pressure and cause pistons to move, which made gears to move to move wheels". Heron spoke with passion.

"Ah well an iron container? About how big"? Arsen didn't know much about math so he kept things simple for him.

"About half a man's height". Stated Heron.

"Excellent I believe I have the right mold. Come back in three days good friend". Arsen spoke calmly and nicely.

"I will, enjoy making this container as I know you would". As Heron prepared to walk back home.

Chapter 2: Killing Time

The next day, Heron was in his study. He planned out the machine that would carry the people and object. It would be a platform elivated by several large wheels. The steam machine would go in the back, the people would go up front. He could not figure out a way to make a turning mechanism, until he had an idea. The gears that made the wheels move could be extended to a place where it could turn the wheels. He figured either the back wheels or front wheels would turn.

He went outside to begin work on this with scrap metal he had. After a few hours he had the base of it complete, and awaited his new machine casing.

He decided to work on his syringes to make a few more, just to kill time.

Chapter 3: Sense of Security

Heron awoke early in the morning before he is supposed to go get his machine. He walked into his study and saw 2 men there stealing things. He yelled at them and prepared to fight but then ran out faster than anything he's ever seen. Heron decided to invest in a lock and weapon.

Chapter 4: Not a Coincidence

After Heron did his weekly bathing he decided to go meet Arsen again. Arsen was a fast, yet very skilled worker so he expected nothing less than perfect.

As heron approached Arsen he looked sad and angry, which is odd for Arsen being a happy person.

"What is wrong my friend"? Asked Heron

"My shop was robbed last night they took no money, they took no weapons, they took nothing but your casing. They even left a note for you in Persian saying 'Heron if you continue these revolutionary studies and machines you will pay greatly'". Arsen was stern.

"I was robbed last night, all they took were syringes. My steam machine was untouched."

"Ah, well little did they know I made TWO because I know you. You always have to come back again because you destroy your machines by doing your crazy studies"

"Arsen, you a wise person and good friend. Thank you. However I need a stronger lock and a dagger."

"Odd for you, eh? Ha, well I have a a few locks take your pick, and I have a surplus of weapons so have this one on the house". Said Arsen as he took out a contain with locks on it. Then he grabbed a dagger off of the wall.

"Thank you friend, I will be back soon to tell you of my works". Heron had no fear of what is to come.

Chapter 5: A Torch in the Dark Room of Ignorance

Heron finished mounting everything and finished his land machine he name Afto-kinito, or Afto for short. Heron gave it test drives at night and it worked nicely. Heron had a hidden storage room in which he planned to hide it. As he drove back home he saw someone in the shadows he prepared his dagger and stabbed the man who went to lunge first. He shouted in Roman and ran away. Heron was confused, a Persian note, yet a Roman man?

He hid his Afto in the hidden room, then left to follow the trail of blood. He found it lead into an underground area below the city. He went home and left this as another problem, for another day.

Heron was awoken in the night by a man standing there. Heron grabbed his dagger, but the man had it.

"Heron, I am Anker. A low ranking spy in a group of Romans called the Vatican. We were created before Jesus was born. We are Christians. We created Jesus and we created several other things and planned several things. Our plans are to kill you before you create an age of industry and growth. We are here to kill you so you don't create an advanced society. We want Rome to fall so a Dark Age of Christianity will form. Heron your machines will be the end of you. Stop and destroy them in a public place you fool".

"Thank you for your warnings however, I am confused who wants me dead and why? Why have you stolen my syringes?" Asked Heron.

"We have the next 1200 years planned out Heron, you will not get in their way, they will kill you. The syringes are used to inject us with vaccines and protect us from all aliments especially a plague which will come in a 1000 years." Anker was a prophet, not a spy, to Heron. "Now I have been sent to kill you, kill me if I return without your head they will take mine".

"No, Anker you are a honorable man. Stay in my hidden room. Live there until I can plan something I will give you food and drink, along with a bed." Heron was humble.

"Thank you noble Heron. You are more than just a man of wisdom, but also hospitality". Anker was grateful.
