@Blue - Moghunter discovered a memory leak bug in the v3.X series which needed correcting, he is also using the release of v3.9 to bridge the gap between v3.82 and v4.0 - getting people use to the way things are implemented etc.

It's a big update, worth a look Smile

its not just big silent
its like a whole new game all over again affraid
every update of xas always blew my mind away,
now theres even skill that can :track enemies,stick to enemies, choose enemies(kindda like parasite eve magic),etc Shocked
the downside is, i have to change a few of the script and learn it all over again for my game , but its worth it, totally Razz
i dunno how to use the new counter feature yet, but ill try later Smile

Yea i do like that he is making things more user friendly. i was thinking that if he was able to get a hold of some one that knew C++ or a script like it, he could get them to make something that allows full editing in the data base, sorta like with blizzABS.

@Blue - I'd probably wait til XAS4 too. But definitely take the time to familiarise yourself with v3.9 because that's the direction XAS is taking. You can now make an enemy, an item and a skill in a few clicks. As Wiggles said, it's much more user friendly - you hardly ever have to go into a script any more.

Those that already know XAS will be able to adjust quite easily, for example the booleans that were in the Tool Script are now check boxes in the SKILL tab etc.

And people who have never used XAS will probably have an easier time picking it up Smile

Hi there, I'm still alive. And now I need ur help. Sad

Updated my Game yesterday to XAS3.91 and the new features are really cool, but there are many problems now.

The Anti-Lag seems to block switches, that will turn an event in the distance on. For example: There should be an NPC, that vanishes from a switch in the distance (and it worked before), but now it won't work anymore. When I come near, the NPC is still available.
I won't like to change always the Anti-Lag, just when there are such events and remember, when reset the setting to normal.

Sometimes "Wait for Moves Completion" won't work as well (have to setup the wait time manually). For now it is more frustrating, than it will help to work on my game. Sad So many build in features won't work now. And some events don't work, even when I changed from the old to the new enemys.

And the manual sais, I can use both ways to setup an enemy. It won't work the old way, getting always the error message, to setup the ID... Sad Now I need to redo all the enemies with the new tag, and it is a lot to do, to search for all the events. Sad

And the last point is, there seems to be an error with the new tag. I made an event and page 1 is empty, page 2 and 3 are the enemy pages (new XAS Monsters with tag). Normally the Monster (page 2 and 3) will only be activated, when a switch is turned on. But I can attack the empty (page 1) event, without wanting it. The Monster is active, but shouldn't, cause the eventpage is empty and the switch is turned off. Why? And is there a way to change it? For this case, I transferred the event from another place to the fighting area, when it's ready to appear, but it is more work to do, than before. Sad

Is it possible to deactivate the Anti-Lag and use my old (not the XAS) one instead? I hope, there is someone, who can help me, cause I would prefer, not to change my whole game because of the new anti-lag. Wink

I hope the XAS4 update won't need such a big change in all of my scripts and events as well. Wink Had never ever so much trouble with an XAS Version. Razz But I am still a big fan. Wink

This is why sometimes you need to think about the update and if it is really worth it in the long run. Sounds like its a huge pain for you, i know the new features are fancy and all but are any of them needed in order to complete your game?

@ mr_wiggles: I didn't expect so much "problems" with the new version, cause I never had any before. I used 3.8 earlier (was always updating, if there's a new version) and it worked like a charm.
The memory leak was the main reason to update to 3.91 (I wasn't updating to 3.9, cause I had no time).
But there are some other usefull things inside, I build myself with eventing and amateur-scripting, which Moghunter did better than me in the new version. For example: Passive Enemies, Cancel State Effect Sensor and Auto Target.

I see, I have to run through my game and make the changes. And will have to play with the antilag as well. Wink

@dontSay - unfortunately there's a couple of key
methods that have been renamed since 3.82 to 3.91.

3.91 has been cleaned up quite a bit, lots of repetitive/useless code has been removed so your game may be referencing to methods that are no longer where they used to be, or it's there but is under a new name.

I know it's alot of work, but it would be less of a hassle converting the XAS3.91 demo into your game vs converting your game over to 3.91.

Hope that makes sense, best of luck, always good to hear from you and that you are still working on your promising title.
