Only credit needed is that you mention my name.

Basic information: each tile is 16x16 pixels, 256 colors (8 bit)
Most of the tilesets in the game are recolored versions of each other.
There are tiles which are not visible, hidden behind layers. Some of theme are messed up, I ripped those as well.

Ancient_City_Pedan_Inside: The wall only consist of those 2x4 tiles on the upper right corner of the image.

Ancient_City_Pedan_Outside: The grass, palm tree, road and water tiles are from the 'Jungle of Illusions' tileset.

Black_Market: Recolored version of Ancient_City_Pedan_Inside

Castle_City_Jad: It was one of my first rips, so I messed up this a bit. (some missing tiles, some tiles ripped more than once, nothing serious) Therefor, the water animation tiles (round the middle of the pic) are incomplete. The second row with the rising water actually consists of 16 tilles. You can find a complete, but recolored version of it in the 'Mirage_Dungeon' tileset. Also, the waterfall's middle part is only 2 tile long. Other things: the darkened wall is under water. The darkened road tile is under water as well. The water is placed in two layers. The first layer contains the tiles under the water, the second layer contains the transparent water animation tiles.

Cave_of_Waterfalls: The waterfall is a two layer water animation just like in the 'Castle_City_Jad' tileset. There's another waterfall animation, which is darker. That's used as a background. The water is a one layer 3 tile animation.

Desert_Of_Scorching_Heat: The quick sand is a two layer animation. The tiles beside the bridge tiles are shadows. They are transparent as well. This tileset also has the two layer water.

Dragon's_Hole_Entrance: Recolored version of 'Path_To_Heavens'. With dragon mouth statue added.

Dragon's_Hole_Inside: Recolored version of 'Cave_of_Waterfalls'. With dragon statues and white light added. The white light is on the wall (makes them look like pits), it is transparent, but the white colored part is NOT.

There are more tilesets from the dragon's hole place in the game, but I haven't done those yet.

Flowergarden_Land_Diorre_Night: Night version of 'Flowergarden_Land_Diorre'. Uses animation
s and tiles from the 'Lampflower_Forest' tileset's night version.

The day version is yet to be done.

Glass_Desert: Recolored version of 'Desert_Of_Scorching_Heat'. With crystals added.

Golden_Road_&_Molebear_Highlands: Recolored versions of 'Rabite_Forest'. With hole and golden brick road added.

Holy_City_Wendel: The house is a recolored version of the houses in the 'Lakshore_Village_Astoria" tileset. Uses tile from the temple of light tileset (which I titled 'Wendel_Temple')

Inside_Basic: One of the inside tilesets. The fireplace has an 8 tile, two layered animation.

Jungle_of_Illusions: Actually two tilesets with few differences. #1: Has the 2 layered water and the road with roots. #2: Has the one layered water with the transparent waterfalls, the other road and the background. Other difference is the color of the trees' trunk and plants'.

Korobokkle_Forest_Interior: no comment needed

Lakeshore_Village_Astoria: one layer water

Lampflower_Forest: (Was a huge pain in the neck to rip those bushes.) The flowers have a second layer transparent light animation, see: 'Lampflower_Forest_Lights'.

Mirage_Dungeon: The dungeon in the mirage palace place. Has 2 layered water.

Mirage_Palace_Exterior: It is actually 3 tilesets. Was one of my first rips. I'm going to rerip it.

Path_To_Heavens: The whole tileset uses only ONE layer.

Rabite_Forest: no comment needed

Sand_cave: Recolored version of 'Desert_Of_Scorching_Heat' and 'Glass_Desert'

Volcano_Island_Bucca: Was one of my first rips, the tree is not ripped properly.

Wendel_Temple: no comment needed

Very nice! Its so cool to have a buddy who is also stuck back in RM2K.

Haha, I see you have a Breath of Fire 2 background under the RM2K tab. That game rocked!

Ok, thanks for the advice. I am ripping these 18x18 tiles from various web finds. I was a PlayerWorlds user as opposed to RPGMaker. Same thing but different. Now I am using the SD3 tiles in my own RPG maker/player system I'm creating (just for fun) via MIT's Scratch application. I was excited to find this big list because most of the map shots or tiles sets are incomplete or patched together from tiles with mismatched lighting. Besides, if you use someone else's tileset, you never know just exactly how all the pieces go back together.

For posterity's sake: I just found a great solution...
Map Jester is a free app just for ripping SD3 maps, it even generates tilesets! No more wondering what the hell is going on with those ocean water layers, lol.

get latest version here... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

get a better app description here... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Note: This is not my app in any way, I just found it. When you click on "Locations" the first map is blacked out. Don't worry, just scroll through the list of available maps as the rest are in color. The auto-generated tilesets have some redundancy but seriously, who cares?!? You can remove the repeats by hand and still save a ton of time. I'm going to save my tilesets attached to the actual game maps so no more unused tiles because I don't know exactly how they went together in the first place. Sweeeeeeeeetness!!
Here is a link to my Scratch page, should anyone be interested in viewing my games and apps or possibly creating their own... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
ps... I'm not trying to hijack this post, but it is a beacon in the night for people web searching for SD3 maps and tiles so it seemed a better place than most to leave this info. PEACE Smile

edit: Here is an example. I just ripped location map (#273 Lampflower forest, beach ) then attached both ripped tileset layers...

@G@MeF@Ce - If you think it needs to be split, please do so. I'm still pretty clueless around here at the moment.
As for my RPG system, it got as far as functional map editing before I hit the limitations of the Scratch application. It was purely for self enjoyment anyway, as are pretty much all Scratch projects. It is a learning app, not a release platform. It is also for 2d applications, although people have begun doing simple 3d stuff anyway. I found a clone of Castle Wolfenstein today that was pretty much the best 3d I have seen there so far.
The beauty of Scratch is that it uses code blocks instead of crazy syntax like C++, etc. It lacks a lot on the horsepower end, but for anyone interested in learning to make simple games, I would recommend no other starting point. The routines you learn there will apply universally to any language you decide to learn later.
For me, life intervened and I wandered away from Scratch for a while. I now run a Stencyl Users help page on Facebook (very much like an evolved version of Scratch.) But Scratch has since gone through a major update and I have returned. I started out trying to report a bug/solution I found today and wound up becoming an editor for the Scratch Wiki, lol.
The thing about Scratch is that it is easy to learn and amazingly fast to work in. You can prototype simple games and routines much easier than any other app I've seen, and I've been around since before the first Pong games hit the streets. Here is a slot machine I have been working on. My plan is to get all the bling working, then go back and add standard RPG elements to it like character creation, stats, quests, monsters to battle, etc.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Here is my old RPG system that I abandoned...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Just between us Gameheads, I recently did some experiments and determined that the project is now do-able. I have begun a new version but it is not shared publicly at the moment. The big issue at the moment is that I'd prefer to make a fully scrolling tile graphics system, but Scratch's limitations would force me to leave out too many features. So I'm probably just gonna go with a screen-switching technique like in my old version.

Lastly, if anyone ever is interested in Scratch and has a question, I'm your guy. Or if anyone has a tileset drawn and would like to see in action, I can crank out a simple mapping app in a day or less. My Scratch page has around 80 apps and most of them are simple game routines I made for other people to learn from. Hit me up.
