Name : Starbirth or "light matters" (pun intended read on..)

Story/Setting :

im feeling galaxy/space story..
-our goal is to save a solar system that has a dying star.. we need to find enough fuel or energy to make a sun..
-collecting.. certain type of minerals around the different galaxies.. in a universe/tie in multi-universe.. to make planets and other things during which we encounter other side quests.. that each galaxy asks us to do.
defeating certain celestial galaxies entities.. like orion and his belt.. the peagusus.. we can do all mythology.. from different religions..
-battling like;
Set or Ra - egpytian
Perun or Veles - russian
Chac or Ah-puch - mayan..
and so on.. *(sidenote: perhaps when battling them.. they speak in a certain tongue, having subtitles)

add the element of a megan man style game.. where doing side quests.. helps you collect certain items.. like a certain type of gravitational pull from each god/diety... allowing you to understand the language and gaining a new ability.

I'm currently focused on Bloodlines...
but this can be a simple and fun side project.

It would be interesting to see what else
may develop through this twist on RPG MAKER XP
yes, we are going to use RMXP to do what most
would use gamemaker for...
and right now we have some what of a rough draft
for the test bed,

already planning to incorporate Albertfish's
terrain tag to common event script
for the pitfalls, spikes, falling events, blocks, etc.

I really want to promote this amazing script,
for it is super nifty... especially for a project like this one.

last would be creating the gravity for enemies
and a few more scripts...
the rest would be art / music / events / maps / story.

so do we have a platform team in progress?
let me know if you need the test bed

just to give yallz an update, I've been working on a certain platform script to work with XAS for quite some time...

just recently the amazing mr_wiggles made a few edits to the update definitions in the XAS system and Cogwheel's platform and everything works like a charm!

I am super excited about making games like:
blaster master
mega man
ghouls and ghosts
bionic commando
double dragon

(just to name a few) in my favorite playground when making games

RMXP+XAS, not only will developers be able to toggle the platform on and off
Hackel has hooked me up with XAS 8-way directional shooting!
along with nifty scripts from Albertfish such as terrain tag / common events for pitfalls / lava / etc... and the XAS vehicle script... for like a yoshi or a tank like metal slug.... THE POSSIBILITIES ARE CRAZY STUPID! ^,^

for RMXP, the feel is better than expected when running then jumping to shoot! even though(just to name a few) the enemy gravity, jumping up on ledges to dropping down from them, pouncing on top of enemies, life system, coin system, pitfalls, swinging vines, vehicles, ladders, drain pipes, punching blocks, hi attacks, low attacks, ducking, sliding, and rolling in the air while you jump needs to be worked out... this little monster of a project is coming along ^,^

essentially this project is really two that I've been working on combined... one the platform two project swtich

*this will be the first "XPLAT" project (XAS Platformer... haha splat!)
to introduce the XAS leader switch being used as one character toggling through a list of powers... I will elaborate on this more later on... excited!

here's a little sneek peek to the HUD arrangements, of course being in it's very early stages all things are subject to change (graphic wise)

thx mate! the screenshot never does any justice to the animations :-/

at the moment the graphic resources are borrowed, eventually I'll whip up some original graphics for the animated panorama, animated gif HUD, particle effects on the hero (working on events)

once wiggles and I work out a separate script for just enemies to have gravity,
I'm going to comb through the scripts to eliminate some noticeable lag...

it'll be like a dream come true for me if this actually ends up working like a charm ^,^

and rly? Thanx, the reason why i need a platform script is cuz without 1, every map is just a straight line of grounds to walk on. The jumping boots addon to XAS doesnt fix that either. Srry for getting off topic.

the Platform script was originally from Cogwheel, then i made some edits for it to work with XAS and I ran into some issues, then mr_wiggles corrected it and created gravity control for the enemies! it's still new but more stable than what it was...

once XAS 3.82 is out, I'll starting tinkering with a newer Xplat script
(and start bringing some of these platform projects to life)
