Some have you may have realized that I am not around as often as I used to be. There are two reasons for this. The first is that I am back at school, and I am really busy with the workload. The other reason is because of my most recent purchase, which is a telescope. Now, on clear nights and in my spare time, I spend hours outside studying the sky. It is amazing what you can see with a telescope.

Does anyone else own or have ever used a telescope?

@albertfish - what a co-inky-dink!
it was only yesterday in the Chatbox Mr_Wiggles asked about you
and I had mentioned you and your telescope ^,^

hope the weather has been good to your observations.
I recommend you check out the nearest Dark Sky Preserve.

so are you still studying Andromeda?
(I have a hunch there's living beings in that galaxy/nebula/constellation)

I no longer have a telescope... it started off as a nightly observation,
then lost interest after not witnessing any UFO's or aliens

alien

I first studied the Moon, then I started off with Ursa Major (Big Dipper)
and learned how to locate other asterisms with it's pattern and nearby Polaris (North Star)
and the rest of Ursa Minor (little dipper.)

Once you get the hang of it... it's fun to use your favorite
star as a guidepost. Mine was Regulus.

other than comets and meteor showers what really struck my interest was the stories in connection to the name of the stars. killer mythology ^,^ -

@Gameface101, I have not seen the Andromeda Galaxy yet Sad, however I can locate the Andromeda constellation and I know approximately where the galaxy is in the sky. Hopefully next week I will have a lot of clear skies!
