In the early universe there were a lot of lighter elements and gases such as hydrogen. There wasn't any carbon or oxygen or anything essential for life. So how are we here today? Well, in the early universe there would have been extremely massive starts. Bigger than any around today. These stars would be so massive that the cores would reach a high enough temperature to fuse atoms all the way up to iron. After iron, the fusion reaction no longer has a net release in energy. The destruction of these stars is what scattered these elements through the universe, and ultimately what led them to find them selves on Earth today. So, we are all made out of stardust!

This sort of stuff really interests me. I really enjoy astronomy, physics and biology. What are your thoughts on this?

YES!!

all i do is sit and watch history chanel and the sicence channel....
*TEAR! we dont get them any more so i got to friends houses or use the web*

I watched this on the scince channel it was VERY intresting indeed....
also do you know about that project in england where they are atempting to buld a machine to recreate the first seconds of the univers???

lol they said that yes the process will create "tiny" black holes.... ummm wtf???
but they because they are soo small that they are self sufficent and die imedatly.... idk about you but i am frightened about this divice...lol

I always compare the structure of an atom to the
solar system and I can't help but notice how
they are similar in structure.

just look at the layers of the atmosphere

in comparison to the shells of energy levels of an atom.

is matter indivisible?
I see why not if we can infinitely make compounds.

Maybe it's just me, yet I notice this continuous orbital pattern
in galaxies, solar systems, planets and moons, elements, atoms,
subatomic particles, which has led us into quarks, and leptons
and this god particle.

We have our theories and proven facts to go even smaller
and this is why it makes complete sense that we are of this
star dust just as a plant would be of the sun's energy.

are we really living on a planet?
or is our galaxy just an electron?

or is our solar system just an atom?

are we these micro organisms with a symbiotic
relationship to this planet which is just a small piece
of space dust?

if space is infinite... then particles are indivisible.

ok now I'm LOST IN SPACE ^,^ help!

yes gameface's its just like the ending to men in black... we are the MARBLE... there are so many intresting things that are out there and perhaps one day all those questions will be answerd for us...

DIDN'T you see... there is a chance of a black hole on the planet???

yup no matter which way you go with it ~
how big to how small... it's never ending.

and black holes are invisible, we can only
identify one by how matter responds to it's presence.

so small ones probably already exist,
they're just difficult to identify.

we've recently discovered super massive black holes,
and through this research many are starting to theorize in
the complete opposite of the big bang...more crazy talk
that can't be proven wrong yet haven't been made to a fact.

from the nuclear power plant to the linear accelerator...
we are making progress in research at an alarming rate.
playing with anti matter, and antiparticles is just wild man.

@Mr_Wiggles, yea I know about that project. Quite fascinating, however when you started talking about the black holes, I was never worried. There are smashing two particles together, if I am correct, so there is simply not enough mass to create a black hole with a strong enough gravitational pull to do any damage. Well, that is my opinion about it anyway.

Yea it's very fascinating. If you like space and stuff, look up a show called The Universe. I think it airs on the history channel, and it talks about a lot of the cool things in the universe. Really a great show.

my thoughts on this is that humans, animals, plants, inanimate objects, aren't different at all. we all are made of glutons and quarks and those make atoms and atoms make us and we change the world

And try to imagine how many atoms actually exist. This is impossible to fathom.

If you think about it, all life is made up of cells. Within each cell is DNA. Now if we think of just human beings we know that each chromosome contains billions of atoms. In a human cell there are 46 of these chromosomes and these are all contained withing the nucleus of the cell, which is only a fraction of the size of the cell. In the average human being, there are trillions of cells. Also think of how many humans are on the planet, and how many quadrillions of stars exist that could potentially have orbiting planets which may also have orbiting moons... *BOOM head explodes*
