I was wondering, I wanted to use a town in my game that isn't fiction. Can I do that, is it a bad idea, or do I need permission?

It really depednds on how you portray the town. If you make fun of it, it's most likely a bad idea. People also tend to get critical if their town isnt protrayed the same way as they see it. Generally, unless you are super familiar with the place (like, you practically/literally live there) you'll need to be careful with using real places in your games. I think you might need permission only if you're going to sell the game.

You can say I live there, but I wasn't planning to use real buildings though.

One more thing, could a classical song be a theme of one of my characters?

Why not? It doesnt have to be a death metal melody that forcibly removes the players brain cells.

Well, it's totally up to you since it's your game. You make it.
So you mean that La Campanella for you character called Dorothy? Or am i missing the point?

There's no problem in that. Lots of game companies use classical music as themes for their characters.
